Jason’s July & August Supplement Stack
It seems it’s been a few months since I’ve posted the supplements I’m taking. For the past two month’s my supplement stack has been the same (with the exception of my multi-vitamin switch). Like most of my stacks, this one’s covering the basics: pre workout, post workout, vitamins, fish oil, and protein (creatine and BCAAs are covered in my pre and post workout supplements).
The highlight of this stack is the VPX NO Shotgun and NO Synthesize stack. I was looking for an all-in-one supplement for pre and post workout. One thing that most concentrated pre workout supplements lack that I want are BCAAs.
Since I train first thing in the morning and I don’t have a pre workout meal I feel I need a hefty dose of BCAAs at that time. Before, I was mixing some BCAAs with my pre workout supplement. The same goes for post workout. I want those BCAAs but I also want creatine, glutamine, beta alanine and a few other ingredients. The NO Shotgun and NO Synthesize supplements provide all of that and then some.
VPX NO Shotgun – pre workout
VPX NO Synthesize – post workout
Universal Nutrition Animal Pak – multi-vitamin/training pack
Twin Lab Fish Oil – 3 times a day with meals
Dymatize Elite Whey Protein
I take a scoop of NO Shotgun as soon as I wake up and then head to the gym. Right after I finish weight training I mix up my NO Synthesize and drink that while I’m doing cardio, which is usually 20-30 minutes on the recumbent bike. I have my post workout protein loaded with protein and carbs from bananas and strawberries as soon as I get home from the gym. About 45 minutes after that I have a 2nd post workout meal, usually grits and eggs with toast and sometimes sausage and oatmeal. I take my Animal Pak with this as well as my first fish oil capsule of the day.
The only difference in my supplement stack last month was I Anavite from Gaspari Nutrition. I had been on that for a while so I decided to switch back to Universal Nutrition Animal Pak this time around. There’s no real reason for that; I just switch things up from time to time. Everything else stayed the same. I didn’t mention this earlier but I also have some Dymatize Recoup (BCAAs) and Dymatize creatine I had picked up for weekends as I don’t take the VPX Shotgun-Synthesize stack on non training days.
I can’t say that my supplement stack with be the same for next month. I have a little itch to go back on Universal Nutrition supplements for pre and post workout. Their Shock Therapy is loaded with the aminos I want for pre workout and I may mix Storm and Atomic 7 for post workout. I still have a week or so before I need to order, so we’ll see.
