PWO Shake and Supplements

I’ll be posting my February supplement stack soon (it’s very similar to January’s with one change) but for now I wanted to post my post workout shake, and also the supplements I’m taking with that meal. I don’t have to stress the importance of post workout nutrition; we all know that’s the best time to provide your muscles with protein, carbs, and certain supplements in order to kick-start the recovery process so you can grow.

My PWO nutrition has pretty much stayed the same over the years. It’s simple; a hefty amount of protein, simple carbs, and a little fat. I like for my carbs to be from natural sources, especially fruits. I also think this is a great time to take your multi-vitamins (you’re less prone to forget if you take them at this time).

Post Workout Cocktail

PWO Shake:

2 scoops of Dymatize Elite Whey

1 banana

1/2 serving of mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, & black berries)

1 teaspoon of all natural peanut butter


Gaspari Nutrition Anavite powder

Testosterone Booster:

Prime Male

I must admit, my post workout shake is delicious and I look forward to it. I actually drink this shake twice a day. Once post workout and again between lunch and dinner (around 3:30PM). It’s a healthy full-course meal. I’ve taken Anavite before but this is my first time taking the powder form. I more than likely stick with the powder from here on.

As many of you know, I’ve been taking a new testosterone booster that’s geared towards men over 30 (which I’m well beyond) called Prime Male. The label instructs to take it 4 times per day with meals, so I take my first Prime Male capsule with my post workout shake since that’s my first real meal of the day. I’m defintely liking the results I’m seeing so far.
