Jason’s 40th Birthday Workout

I’m not gonna toot my horn too loud here but today is the day I turn 40. Although I wish I had taken the day off work I’m glad to decided to train on my birthday. It was chest and biceps this morning.

Funny thing is I realized I had run out of my pre workout supplement (perhaps memory fades at 40?) so I took two fat burner pills with a scoop of protein powder and aminos before I left for the gym. That being said I didn’t expect to feel as strong as I’m hooked on pre workouts. But I did ok.

Chest Workout

Dumbbell Press:
5 sets x 15, 15, 15, 12, 10 reps

Incline Bench Press:
5 sets x 10, 10, 10, 8, 20

Dumbbell Pullovers:
3 sets x 8 reps

Dumbbell Flyes:
3 sets x 10 reps

Biceps Workout

Alternate Dumbbell Curls:
3 sets x 12 reps

Preacher Curls:
3 sets x 12 reps

Incline Dumbbell Curls:
3 sets x 12 reps

TestoFuel Review - 405 Bench Press

I started with 3 sets of 15 reps for dumbbell presses thinking that it was going to be a lighter day with more reps. But I decided to bump it up a bit, which I ended up getting more reps than I expected with those last two heavy sets. I did the same when I got to incline bench press. I started with 10 strict reps for the first few sets thinking I would stay there. But I did one heavy set after that and surprised myself.

My biceps workout was very standard and I kept everything at 12 reps. I’ve been going a bit heavier on biceps lately but for some reason wanted to ensure I got those 12 reps this morning. I walked for a little over 20 minutes after that then went home and made myself a birthday present; my protein shake! That’s it for Jason’s 40th birthday workout!
