Quick Chest Workout

This morning consisted of an abbreviated chest workout. Last night I felt like I was coming down with something so I took a half dose of NyQuil. That’s pretty much what I do every time I feel my body fighting something. It happens once or twice a year. So this morning the after effects of NyQuil and my pre workout supplement were competing.

I knew I wouldn’t be 100% so I went into the gym knowing that it was going to be a short training session. I chose four basic chest exercises and hit three sets of each. There were no crazy techniques like drop sets or rest pause. I obviously didnt go super heavy on anything. So this is more along the lines of what I de-load workout would be.

Short Basic Chest Workout

Incline Barbell Press:
3 sets x 12, 10, 7 reps

Decline Barbell Press:
3 sets x 10 reps

Hammer Strength Press:
3 sets x 12 reps

Cable Crossovers:
3 sets x 15 reps

On the way to the gym I had thought it would be best to stick with Hammer Strength machines for chest. But once I got there I decided to do a mix of that and free weights, which I ended up with barbells for my first two exercises, incline and decline bench press. Despite not being at my best I still got a solid chest workout and pump.

I ended with two calve exercises. I hit seated followed by standing calve raises. After that, I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. I’ll go to bed early tonight and prep for arm day tomorrow.
