Veteran’s Day 2015 Workout

I want to first thank all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our United States military. It takes a ton of courage to go out there knowing the risk to keep us protected. I have the utmost respect and admiration for our military. In fact, it’s something I really wish I had done and often regret not joining in my younger years.

Veteran’s Day happened to fall on my leg day this year. And this was a brutal one! Most of you know I was one vacation for the past few weeks. Although I trained a little, I had no access to a leg press or squat rack/machine. So today was my first day back to heavy leg training.

Nov 11th Leg Workout

Leg Press: 8 sets x 12-15 reps

Plate-Loaded Squats: 10 sets x 10 reps

Leg Extensions: 5 sets x 10 reps
superset with
Seated Leg Curls: 5 sets x 10 reps

Hammer Strength Leg Curls: 5 sets x 10 reps

Single Leg Extensions: 5 sets x 15 reps

Seated Calve Raises – Machine: 7 sets x 15 reps

You can see this was a high volume workout with many, many sets. I chose the German Volume Training method for the plate-loaded squats. I’ve been using the 10×10 technique a lot over the past couple of months.

I came back to leg extensions but did them one leg at a time the second time around. I felt a better pump this way. Of course I had already done so much leg training up to that point. I plan to be sore tomorrow and I’ll be refueling with lots of protein and carbs today!
