June 2017 Supplement Stack

I want to give you a quick update on the supplements I’m taking. As usual, it’s basic and expensive. I don’t believe you need to spend half of your paycheck on supplements.

The main changes are my new pre-workout (which I’ve taken in the past) and I’m trying a new flavor of protein powder (same brand, Dymatize).

Here’s my July 2017 supplement stack details below. There’s also links to each product going to the lowest prices.

Jason’s Supplement Stack

Dymatize Elite 100% Whey Protein (strawberry flavor)

This has been my go-to protein powder for several years. Its pure, doesn’t upset my stomach, and the price is right.

Scivation Xtend BCAAs (intra workout)

Xtend has the perfect (or rather, correct) ratio of branched chain amino acids. It also contains glutamine for extra recovery and elecrolytes to keep you hydrated. I take 1 scoop at the beginning of my workout and sip on another during the middle of my workout.

APS Mesomorph

This is a new preworkout I just started and it’s pretty awesome! I had just come off of a preworkout that wasn’t doing much for me, so it was a relief to get back on something that works for me. Great pumps, sustainable energy, and no crash.

Kirkland Signature Omega-3 Fish Oil

This is Costco’s brand (I buy from there sometimes, but mostly Amazon because I’m too lazy to go to the store). Compared to other fish oil pills, Kirkland’s has the least fishy taste to it. I also notice a difference in my joints feeling better with this brand.

Raw Barrels Glutamine Powder

Raw Barrel is a new brand to me. They actually sent me a tub of their glutamine. After trying it, I started buying it. Although my BCAAs (Xtend) have glutamine, I like to take glutamine by itself before bed. It helps enhance recovery and also helps me sleep deeper, and better.

You may notice something is missing here. Where’s my Animal Pak? There’s no multi-vitamin! I actually just ran out a week ago so I’ll probably order more soon. I want to see how I feel without multi’s for a couple of weeks though. For vitamins, I’m just taking the Emergen-C and also eating more fruits and vegetables (natural source of vitamins).

I’ve got to rave about APS Mesomorph. This stuff is awesome!! Intense pumps and smooth energy!

A good friend had given me a gift card from a local nutrition store for my birthday. They also threw in a bunch of samples, which included several packs of Mesomorph. So I picked some up!

Blueberry Banana Protein Shake Recipe

With trying a new flavor of protein, which is always scary, I wanted to also post my new post workout shake. It’s not necessarily new, but just a slight variation of what I’ve been doing. The core ingredient is blueberries. Fresh blueberries.

  • 6 oz of almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 2 scoops of whey protein
  • 2 ice cubes

I dump all of this into my Nutri Ninja Auto iQ blender and put it on the first auto iQ setting (45 seconds). This blender has been the best purchase for the kitchen. I use it every single day!

Nutri Ninja Auto iQ – Perfect for Shakes
I used to add a 1/2 cup of frozen dark berries (from Publix). I actually like just using fresh blueberries in my protein shake though. That with a banana and the strawberry flavor protein from Dymatize makes a pretty good tasting post workout shake.
