For many of us, this is the most difficult battle in our journey. Everything we scarf down is going to have an impact on what our bodies look like and how we perform. First things first, we need to make sure we're getting the essential nutrients as well as enough protein for muscle building. We spend so much time and dedication tearing our bodies down in the gym but if we don't replace those nutrients and get proper recovery (protein, amino acids, rest, etc.) then we're robbing ourselves of muscle gains.

It's also important to realize that a particular nutrition plan may work great for some but not for others. Everyone's body processes certain foods differently.
That being said, one of the most effective ways of getting your nutrition down is Metabolic Typing. This individualizes your nutrition plan based on your ANS (autonomic nervous system) and your oxidative system in regards to how your body processes certain foods. Google 'Metabolic Typing' for more info.
There are a ton of theories regarding diet and nutrition floating around out there, and it seems trendy diets are popping up more often than we'd like to see. The bottom line is that our body needs fuel to perform as well as to grow and repair itself. This I'm not a fan of fad diets or extreme diets. You need protein, you need carbohydrates and you need fat in your diet. The types and quantites of those are what's important.
Often times our diet is split up into phases. Many bodybuilders go through the common bulking and cutting phases, while some choose to stay somewhat lean throughout the year. For those that don't compete, it simply revolves around their personal goals regarding what they want to look like or how strong they want to be. One who is prone to carrying more body fat may watch their diet more closely than one who's a hard gainer; age can be a factor in this as well in regards to your metabolism and how your body utilizes nutrients and food.
On this page you'll find plenty of diet and nutrition information, tips and meals. One thing is for certain; if you're watching what you eat and don't cook, you're going to be learning how soon!
