We all know that taking a daily multi-vitamin formula is essential to our health. But for us who are involved in weight training, bodybuilding or any sort of athletics, we need more than just your cheap multi-vitamin made for normal people (us iron warriors or anything but normal).
I’ve always taken a multi-vitamin, or rather what many supplement companies call a training pack, everyday since I’ve been into weight training. This is one supplement you shouldn’t skimp on. Supplements like pre workout formulas, creatine, aminos, etc. are indeed an important part of building muscle, but a solid multi-vitamin should be your first priority.
What is and what’s in Anavite?
Gaspari Nutrition Anavite is loaded with your essential vitamins and minerals to help support recovery, your immune system, and enhance overall health. Anavite also contains Anavite Athletic Drive Matrix which is a blend of Carnipure (L-Carnitine L-Tartrate), Beta-Alanine, and Boron. I’d like to add that each daily dose of Anavite provides a full effective dose of L-carnitine and beta-alanine. This is important as many supplements that contain ingredients are under dosed. Not Anavite. You get a full 2,000 mg of L-carnitine and a whopping 3,200 mg of beta-alanine per day with Anavite.
My Use/Dosage of Gaspari Nutrition Anavite
Anavite’s label states to take three tablets twice a day with meals. I don’t see any reason to mega dose multi-vitamins so I stuck with the label. I took three tablets in the morning with my post workout shake, which packed with protein and carbs. And I took another three tablets in the evenings with my dinner. I believe most vitamins are fat soluble so they absorb better when take with food. It’s important to note that I did not miss any servings. The ingredients in Anavite are dosed to be most effective when taken consistently, per the label. So I’ll reiterate, don’t miss any servings!
My Experience with Anavite
Ok, so we’re talking about multi-vitamins and I realize that’s quite as exciting as talking about the latest pre workout supplement that creates crazy pumps. But I can attest that Gaspari Nutrition Anavite is far more than just a multi-vitamin, and unlike any other multi-vitamin, you can feel Anavite working. That’s because Anavite has that extra edge in the Anavite Athletic Drive Matrix formula (this can be seen at the bottom of the label. This is a special blend of L-carnitine, beta-alanine, and boron. I’m not even sure which is these added ingredients you’re supposed to feel, or perhaps it’s the combination. But you can definitely tell you’re taking something because I had more energy throughout the day and my mood was enhanced overall.
It’s important to note that your diet should be as clean as possible when taking Anavite. I was advised of this my someone who competes in high level bodybuilding competitions. This allows the L-carnitine and beta-alanine to be even more effective (especially since L-carnitine is geared towards boosting your metabolism and helping burn fat). I’ve also heard of many bodybuilders taking Anavite during their pre-contest phase. That’s not to say you shouldn’t take it at other times, as we should all be eating a healthy and semi-clean diet throughout the year despite what phase we’re in.
Cons: There’s no cons with Anavite as it covers the essentials and then some.
The bodybuilding supplement market for performance based multi-vitamins, and supplements in general, is extremely competitive. Supplement companies are challenged to live up to their claims and to continuously put out the most effective supplements in their class. I have to say that after my experience, Anavite is certainly one of the leading high-end performance boosting multi-vitamins out there.
Another point I’d like to mention is in regards to Gaspari Nutrition. This supplement company was started and is owned by an actual bodybuilder, Rich Gaspari, who was a top Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competitor, known for his extreme conditioning, creating new standards for the sport. I think many of us thrive on buying products from a company who’s CEO practices what they’re preaching. It’s kind of like workout advice (which we all get way too much of because everyone in the gym is an expert!); I’ll take advice from someone who’s bigger than me, and who lives and breathes bodybuilding over someone who sits behind a desk and just talks about it.
