Several studies show that taking BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids) are vital for muscle recovery. Many bodybuilders and weight training athletes take BCAAs before, during and after their workouts. As BCAA products such as Dymatize Elite Recoup are essential for recovery some feel that BCAAs also grant sustainable muscle energy (which is why some take BCAAs before and during their workouts).
2 rounded scoops per day of Recoup on workout days (rounded scoop per the label = 1 serving). I sip on the first serving during my workout and take another serving immediately post workout, usually along with whatever creatine supplement I’m taking at the time. I normally do not take Dymatize Elite Recoup on non-weight training days (which is usually Sunday, sometimes Saturday and Sunday).
At the time of writing this review on Dymatize Recoup, the main BCAA and recovery supplements I’ve used consistently have been Scivation Xtend and Universal Atomic 7. I’ve been using Dymatize Elite Whey protein for the past couple of years or more and it’s one of the few protein powders that don’t upset my stomach. I figured I’d try something else from Dymatize so I picked up their BCAA formula, Recoup, as BCAA’s is a supplement I take religiously immediately following my workout, and often times during my workout.
There’s honestly not a huge difference between Dymatize Recoup and the other BCAA supplements I’ve taken. What I can attest to is Recoup provides the results I look for in BCAAs. I notice sustainable muscle energy during my workouts and I also notice better recovery with Recoup as opposed to not taking any type of BCAA supplement. That being said, I feel like Dymatize Recoup is solid and a high quality BCAA supplement. Like most modern BCAA supplements Recoup also contains a few extras such as citrulline malate, glutamine, and B vitamins. The amount of BCAAs and overall contents of Recoup are comparable to most other BCAA supplements as well, give or take a little.
Pros: Inexpensive yet high quality BCAA supplement. You should notice a difference in your recovery time and less soreness. You may also notice sustainable muscle energy during your workout. There’s also the extras such as glutamine, B vitamins, vitamin C, and citrulline malate.
Cons: There’s no cons to list here.
Dymatize Recoup is something I’ll keep in my BCAA supplement rotation. I like switching back and forth between certain supplements because I’ve found a hand-full that I really like and that seem to grant solid results. Recoup is definitely one of them. In my opinion, Dymatize is a reputable brand.
