Synths-6 Protein Review

I’ve stuck with the same protein for the past several years. But now and then I’ll try something new. I came across a tub of BSN Syntha-6 on sale, so I picked it up.

What is Syntha-6?

Syntha-6 is a protein blend from BSN, who’s famous for their pre-workout N.O. Explode. It contains 22 grams of protein per scoop and is advertised to be used anytime day or night.

Another highlight on the label is that Syntha-6 has an essential amino acid profile. I’ll get more into the label below.

My BSN Syntha-6 Review

I’m basing my Syntha-6 review on two weeks of use. I bought the smaller container, which is 28 servings. I used it post workout, and as a meal replacement between whole food meals.

For my post workout shake, I mixed Syntha-6 with Coconut Milk, a banana, and frozen berries. For my meal replacement shake, I did the same but minus the berries and added a little peanut butter.

I don’t talk much about flavors and I normally stick with chocolate or vanilla. In this instance, the banana flavor was the one on sale so that’s why I picked up. And it’s quite tasty.

I’ll now go over the pros and cons, from my Syntha-6 review and perspective.

Syntha-6 Pros

  • Mixes easy
  • No stomach problems
  • Could serve as a meal replacement on its own
  • Tastes good

Syntha-6 Cons

  • Some may not like the fact that it contains carbs and fats

Syntha-6 Label

Along with my Syntha-6 review, I also want to briefly go over the label. I was a little shocked thinking this was a whey protein product. But there’s a small amount of carbohydrates and fats.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But many are just looking for pure whey protein so that they can add their own ratio of carbs and fats. I would personally rather see higher protein content and less of the other.

Overall Thoughts on Syntha-6

BSN Syntha-6 seems to be a solid protein powder with a little extra. That is of course if you want the extra (carbs and fats). Again, it could almost serve as a meal replacement by itself. I’m thinking two scoops and you have a healthy protein-packed meal.

Would I buy it again? I prefer protein powders that are just protein with minimal amount of carbs and fats. I like to add my own (ex: my carbs come from frozen berries, bananas, and coconut milk and my fats come from natural peanut butter). But if you’re looking for something quick that had it all, Syntha-6 may be a good choice.

Train with Passion,

Jason
