Here’s the 45 Minute Leg Blast workout. Keep in mind that you want to do full range of motion on each rep of each exercise. I feel like this is especially important when training legs. You’ll hear me say this a lot…half reps will equate to half legs. And we don’t want that; we want full leg development.
This is along the lines of my basic leg workout but with a little higher volume. The key is to get the reps and training volume that’s needed for growth in a short amount of time. The two ways I do this is using shorter rest periods between sets and doing multiple sets of less exercises so that you’re not going from machine to machine as much.
Leg Press: 6 sets of 8-12 reps
Hack Squats: 3 sets of 8-12 reps
Lying Leg Curls – superset with the next exercise: 7 sets of 10-15 reps
Leg Press: 7 sets of 10-15 reps
It’s difficult for many to get bigger legs. You really have to work hard for it. So don’t cheat yourself during your leg workouts. A note of the leg curls: you can use whatever leg curl machine is available for these (standing leg curls, seated leg curls, or lying leg curls). If not leg curl machines are not available you can always do stiff leg deadlifts for your hams.
One more note, you may notice that this leg workout is similar to the FST-7 training methods. As I stated above, the key is to get in an adequate amount of sets and reps within 45 minutes. This wasn’t intended to be an FST-7 leg workout although I’m a big fan of Hany Rambod’s FST-7 method.
