Christmas Week Leg Workout

Christmas Week Leg Day

I moved my leg workout up a day (it’s usually on Wednesdays) for Christmas week. I shifted my muscle groups around a bit since I don’t plan to workout on Christmas Day. Just like yesterday’s back workout, this morning’s leg workout was extremely intense. My reps were more focused overall and I made sure I felt the muscle working throughout the entire rep.

Leg Workout

Leg Extensions: 4 sets x 25 reps

Leg Press: 4 rest-pause sets x 50 reps

Seated Leg Curls: 4 rest-pause sets x 18 reps

Machine Squats: 4 sets x 12 reps

Hammer Strength Leg Curls: 4 sets x 15 reps

Dumbbell Lunges: 3 sets x 12 reps

Seated Calve Raises: 4 sets x 12 reps

I started my leg workout with some extreme high rep sets. I used fairly moderate weight for leg extensions and hit 25 reps for 4 sets. After that the real work began. I decided to perform 4 rest-pause sets for leg press. I basically picked a weight I could do about 25 reps with. I rested about 10 seconds between the sets within each rest-pause sets, which it took me 3-4 sets to hit 50 reps. So that was 200 total reps for leg press.

Since my quads were so exhausted after the extreme high reps for leg press I switched to a hamstring exercise. I wanted to exhaust my hams right off the bat so I hit some rest-pause sets here. If you haven’t noticed, I love rest-pause sets. From there, I continued with standard, yet very intense sets with controlled reps. I finished up with calves and cardio.
