Less Rest Between Sets Leg Workout

Lately it’s been all about keeping the workout moving. That means less rest between sets. the idea is to keep my heart rate up so I’m implementing this method into some of my workouts during the week. I applied it to my leg workout this morning.

The summer is coming up and like many, I’m looking for shed a little fat. I’ll admit my diet has been a bit lenient over the past few months. So on top of changing my workouts a little, I’m also watching my diet closer during the week and I’ll be taking a fat burner as well.

Tuesday Leg Workout

  • Seated Leg Curls
    • 5 sets x 15 reps
  • Leg Extensions
    • 5 sets x 15 reps
  • Leg Press
    • 5 sets x 12-15 reps
  • Hack Squats
    • 3 sets x 10 reps
  • Squats (plate-loaded machine)
    • 3 sets x 10 reps
  • Hammer Strength Leg Curls
    • 4 sets x 12
  • Leg Extensions (single-leg)
    • 4 sets x 12 reps

This is a fairly extensive leg workout. But you guys know I’m a big believer in volume training for legs. More sets, more reps. In my opinion, it’s the best way to get your legs to grow.

Less Rest Between Sets

Again, my goal is to shed some excess fat that I’m in dire need of shedding. It’s not that I’m fat or anything (and I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way to those that have trouble with weight – I was on the opposite end, growing up getting picked on for being too skinny). Resting less really increases your heart rate and gives the ole metabolism a natural boost. Thus, you burn more body fat.

So that was today’s leg workout, using less rest between sets. It was quite brutal. I didn’t go super heavy, but I usually don’t for legs. Like I said, volume seems to work best for me for growing bigger legs.

Train with Passion,
